Ex Works' mission is to organize the information that flows between freight forwarders and the trucking companies on which they depend. Accessible, organized information enables better decisions, reduced costs and fully populated forwarder tracking systems.

The first step toward that mission was building an efficient means for trucking companies of any size or sophistication to provide both POD and audited invoices to freight forwarders electronically. XDS - Data Services was launched four years ago - and today is generally recognized as the most successful system of its kind, having delivered over $50 million in trucking invoices and hundreds of thousands of PODs directly to forwarder A/P and tracking systems.

Forwarders next asked Ex Works to build a simple, consistent platform where trucking companies can maintain their company-level information and also private tariffs. XVM - Vendor Management provides an easy-to-use repository for insurance certificates, driver TSA information, fleet makeup, hours of operation, management contacts and of course, rates.

XDS and XVM have been embraced by trucking companies of every size... because they are simple and because they work. Today over 1,200 of the specialized trucking companies serving freight forwarders actively participate in Ex Works, and dozens more trucking companies begin participating each week.

This broad acceptance by the forwarding industry's truckers makes possible Ex Work's newest service - Public Access. Public Access makes life easier for both trucking companies and forwarders. Trucking companies build upon information they have already populated in Ex Works, freeing themselves from endless faxing of insurance and driver information to each and every one of their forwarder clients. Forwarders get the information they need in a single location, with a couple of clicks. Easier for the forwarder, easier for the trucking company.

Public Access also helps forwarders find new trucking companies to handle shipments - and sometimes introduces new forwarder clients to truckers. A forwarder can insert a postal code and airport or seaport and Public Access will display each of the trucking companies serving that route- as well as their calculated pulic rate. With a click, the forwarder sees the contact information, fleet, etc. for each trucking company.
